چکیده

Abstract Objective Beehive air therapy is recognized as a potential remedy for treating asthma, bronchitis, lung fibrosis, and respiratory tract infections. Developed countries in which beehive currently authorized include Germany, Hungary, Slovenia, Austria. However, scientific proof of its efficacy lacking warrants further chemical biological analyses concept. In this study, volatile profile was determined the first time along with individual components (bees, venom, honey, beeswax). Methods Volatile compounds were collected from using solid phase micro-extraction (SPME) coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC–MS). Antimicrobial assay released 4 products performed against Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, multi drug-resistant aureus (MRSA) vitro agar-well diffusion microtiter plate assays. Results conclusions: A total 56 identified air, bee insect wax including 6 fatty acids, alcohols, 10 aldehydes, 5 esters, 1 ether, 9 hydrocarbons, phenol, 7 ketones, nitrogenous compound terpenes. The most abundant constituents short-chain acids (26.32%) while lowest (0.82%). principal component analysis (PCA) scores plot UPLC/MS dataset showed similarity bee's aroma profile. With regards antimicrobial assay, venom exerted strongest activity among examined S. K. A. MRSA but failing exert an effect case aforementioned bacteria.

Airflow rate in the quantitation of volatiles in air streams by solid-phase microextraction

A previously reported method for nonequilibrium quantitation of air-borne volatiles from air streams by solid-phase microextraction (SPME) was improved by broadening its scope. The original method was defined for the 100-microm poly(dimethylsiloxane) fiber type for a wide range of analytes, sampling temperatures, and sampling times, but only for four specific airflow configurations. The present...

Microextraction by Packed Sorbent (MEPS) and Solid-Phase Microextraction (SPME) as Sample Preparation Procedures for the Metabolomic Profiling of Urine

For a long time, sample preparation was unrecognized as a critical issue in the analytical methodology, thus limiting the performance that could be achieved. However, the improvement of microextraction techniques, particularly microextraction by packed sorbent (MEPS) and solid-phase microextraction (SPME), completely modified this scenario by introducing unprecedented control over this process....

Volatiles profiling in Ceratonia siliqua (Carob bean) from Egypt and in response to roasting as analyzed via solid-phase microextraction coupled to chemometrics

Ceratonia siliqua is a legume tree of considerable commercial importance for the flavor and sweets industry cultivated mostly for its pods nutritive value and or several health benefits. Despite extensive studies on C. siliqua pod non-volatile metabolites, much less is known regarding volatiles composition which contributes to the flavor of its many food products. To gain insight into C. siliqu...

A Digital Microfluidic Interface between Solid-phase Microextraction (spme) and Liquid Chromatography

We introduce digital microfluidic interface between solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and liquid chromatography. In the new system, a SPME fiber is used to extract analytes from a complex sample, and is then inserted into a DMF device. Solvent droplets are then used to extract analytes from the fiber with continuous actuation, followed by analysis with liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spect...
